Best of Paphos

Nearly two thousand years ago Paphos was a huge walled city, strategic outpost and island capital for the Egyptian rulers of Cyprus. A fourth century earthquake, Arab raids 300 years later and other subsequent dramatic changes took from Paphos its place as first city for the island. Now Paphos is a lively, yet completely relaxing town round a bustling harbour lined with old houses and tavernas.

The surrounding area is rich in history and a short drive from the town itself are villages almost untouched by passing time. You will find many gems including stunning Roman mosaics and the Tombs of the Kings. Alternatively, of course, you may prefer not to rise from the sun bed on your private terrace or hotel beach!
